Rihanna stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week, and was asked about her interest in starting a family. Rihanna was then asked if she wants to wait until she is involved with someone before having kids.

“I would prefer to, you know, have a full family. I’m pretty sure I could handle if I had to on my own but that’s not what I’m striving for,” she answered. In addition to appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres show, Rihanna also has a cover spread in GQ magazine’s latest issue.

At nine fifteen, Rihanna’s black Escalade pulls up in front of Emilio’s Ballato, Andy Warhol’s Nolita Italian restaurant of choice, a circus in tow. Her army of bodyguards surveys the scene. Then one of Rihanna’s long legs hits the pavement and it’s madness. There are paparazzi everywhere, all at once, perching on bicycles and European motorbikes, firing out of Mercedes-Benz windows and SUV sunroofs, pushing in on every square foot of sidewalk. The cameras strobe around her like a Ferris wheel.

"Skyfall" landed in theaters accompanied by an immeasurable amount of hype last Friday, due in no small part to Daniel Craig's willingness to sit down for countless interviews.

But there are only so many 007-centric questions that Bond can field, so naturally conversation shifts to other topics. In a recent interview with Global Grind, Craig said he believes Rihanna would be a better Bond girl than Beyonce, because the former is "dirtier."

Rihanna has confirmed that her next single will be titled 'Diamonds'. In an interview with iHeartRadio at their annual music festival, the 'We Found Love' singer revealed that the song will get its first play on US radio on Wednesday (September 26) at 8am ET.

Rihanna described the track as neither happy nor sad, and said it was "happy and hippy" rather than "dancey". "It's laid-back but it's hopeful," she added. "It's a record that... gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it. The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it's about love and... a little different to what people would expect, I think.

Earlier this week, Rihanna talked to the press about Battleship, her first acting role, in London. She plays Petty Officer Raikes — a weapons specialist who gets a thrill from firing heavy artillery. And the singer admitted she enjoyed working with guns almost as much as her character. Rihanna said: “The one on the boat was so powerful, on the ribs, every time, ugh, I remember. I would come back to the set with black gunpowder everywhere — it was crazy. But it was so much fun. I loved it, every moment. I loved feeling it in my chest.”

Rihanna has history with the military. She joined the army cadets as a youngster in Barbados — and not because of the boys. “I just wanted to join an organisation. I didn’t want to be at school for school work, that was boring. Everything else was kind of not my thing, so I joined the cadets. They had weapons. I wasn’t into boys then.”

Besides facing the normal challenges of the summer box office, “Battleship” has a cast full of young actors, like Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker and pop superstar Rihanna trying to prove their skills in a big-budget movie. In the case of Rihanna, many skeptics turned their nose up at the idea of the singer making the crossover to acting, but her director on “Battleship,” Peter Berg, told MTV News at New York’s Toy Fair that she was a natural. “She was great,” he said. “She has a very strong part.”

Berg insisted that Rihanna’s casting was not as unorthodox as many may have thought, citing a whole host of singers who act. He has even had personal experience helping performers make the transition.”I’ve always believed in musicians as actors. I had great success with Tim McGraw in ‘Friday Night Lights’ and ‘The Kingdom.’ Musicians have been acting since Frank Sinatra won an Oscar for ‘From Here to Eternity,’ ” Berg said.

The singer is set to play a US Navy weapons officer in the film Battleship, based on the popular board game of the same name. The movie is directed by Peter Berg, the man behind the 2008 film Hancock starring Will Smith and Charlize Theron. He says Rihanna has a big future on the big screen. “I’ve worked with musicians before and I always expected there was a great actress in Rihanna,” he said. “That’s just from watching her intensity and how hot she is in her music videos.”

Peter Berg, 49, spent four months with the star filming near Hawaii. “For anyone that’s been on a music video set, it’s not so easy to do sexy,” he said. “If it was, there would be a lot more Rihannas.” As for Rihanna’s career in Hollywood, the director said: “Battleship is a small role but she does a great job in it. “If she wants to be a huge movie star then in a year you’ll be sitting here with her talking about whatever her next film is.”

Via 4Music: “Talk That Talk” is Rihanna’s sixth studio album and, according to her manager, Jay Brown, her desire to keep recording is driven by her love of music and her wish to satisfy demand from her fans. Introducing the album at SARM Studios in London’s Notting Hill, Jay Brown said she was right to keep on releasing albums as “kids are always looking for new music.”

He also revealed plans for her to shoot the video for her next single “You Da One” in London and confirmed that they’re talking to Melina Matsoukas, who was at the helm on the “We Found Love” shoot, about possible concepts. When asked about her plans for 2012, Brown said Rihanna would be promoting her movie debut Battleship, which is due for release in the UK on 18 April, and would begin work on a second big screen project towards the end of the year.

Via BBC:
“I think you become disposable when you put out an album every three years. It’s not like we force her. She goes into the studio because she likes it. Nobody, when they’re buying an album, wants to skip over tracks. If there are too many songs, you dilute what you’re trying to do. When we were deciding the tracks to put on there, I wasn’t thinking about minutes and seconds. I just wanted to make sure it was all hits,” said Jay Brown.

ET Online: Rihanna takes on her first dramatic role in the summer blockbuster Battleship, and our own Mark Steines is exclusively with the Grammy winner on the USS Missouri in Pearl Harbor, HI. “I got to shoot some really serious, powerful weapons, which is really, really fun,” says the singer, decked out head-to-toe in camouflage and fake tattoos. “We wanted a bunch of tattoos just to dirty me up a little bit — and, of course, no makeup.”

Rihanna is standing on the deck of the U.S.S. Missouri in Oahu’s Pearl Harbor wearing fatigues and clucking like a chicken. Yes, you read that right. Clucking. Like a chicken. “Bwawk, BWAWK!” Certainly not what one might expect to see the pop superstar doing on the set of her first movie, one about a battle at sea with aliens to boot, but blame it on Battleship director Peter Berg’s style. This particular scene takes place at the beginning of the movie when Admiral Shane (Liam Neeson, absent today) is giving a speech on deck to some 500 extras. Rihanna, as tough-chick sailor Raikes, is egging on two male sailors to go mess with one of the ranking officers, Hopper (Taylor Kitsch), but they’re balking, afraid of him. He has her repeat the line “Go mess with him!” over and over. The sailors refuse again.

Na-na-na, come on! Wondering how Rihanna got Britney Spears into “S&M”? (Kinda sounds like the beginning of another pop princess porno, doesn’t it?) In a call with New York’s 92.3 NOW FM, the “California King Bed”-ridden beauty reveals how the collaboration came to be, and also jumps in to defend her fellow inked diva when host Lil Cee suggests that Britney’s “nasally” contribution to the track may be bad (and not perfectly good at it). Hear the clip below — it’s almost as exciting as whips and chains, we promise.

Rihanna forgives her abusive father for her troubled childhood, because she says he had a bad upbringing himself. (CBS) Turns out Rihanna really meant what she was singing in her recent hit single "S&M." While speaking candidly to Rolling Stone magazine, the 23-year-old pop star has revealed some intimate details of her bedroom behavior.

"I like to take charge, but I love to be submissive," she says. "Being submissive in the bedroom is really fun. You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge. That's sexy to me." She adds, "I work a lot, and I have to make a lot of executive decisions, so when it comes to being intimate, I like to feel like I'm somebody's girl. I like to keep it spontaneous. Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned - you gotta stop, get the whip from the drawer downstairs. I'd rather have him use his hands."

Rihanna has denied she is to star in a remake of The Bodyguard. It was recently rumored the S&M singer would be reprising Whitney Houston's role in the new version, but Ri says she's not interested. "Absolutely not," she said. "I hate it when singers do singing movies all the time, because you can never look at them as anybody else."

Although she doesn't want that role, Rihanna - who makes her movie debut in Battleship - is keen to pursue her acting work. "I want to play a character, my whole life is playing 'Rihanna', being a singer won't be a stretch for me," she adds. "I like challenges and being an actor is playing a role, being able to step into somebody else's shoes, that's the excitement." The star just expanded her UK tour later this year - Rihanna Tickets are on sale now. [SOURCE]

Rihanna's colorful, controversial "S&M" video dropped earlier this week. It plays on the song's themes of, you guessed it, S&M, as well as the celebrity-hungry media and paranoia. Rihanna appears in the video clad in latex and bondage attire. For some, it was too hot, but as the film's director, Melina Matsoukas, explained, the video is meant to be a fun romp through an alternate universe. Matsoukas led us MTV News through the video, frame by frame.

"I guess the first major image is the Cox News thing. It's a bite off of Fox News and trying to and bring in the S&M theme and build on her sadomasochistic relationship with the press," she explained. "So that's what the video is about, and it starts off strong with that message."

As many know, topless photos of 'S&M' singer Rihanna have surfaced through the media outlets, the question is are they real? Many fans debated if the topless photo of a girl that resembles the 'Umbrella' singer wearing a skimpy see-through bottom while taking a photo with her cell phone were real. Media Take Out was the first place to leak the photos, and claims that they were sent to a former flame by Rihanna herself. That flame in question would apparently be none other than Matt Kemp.

Since then there's been a great deal of speculation if the girl in the grainy photos really was the 'Good Girl Gone Bad' herself or a look-alike. Well, look no further, there's official confirmation via Rihanna herself that these photos are, indeed real. Apparently she decided to own up to it (after all they really aren't that bad considering) and admit that they are of her.

Rihanna has fun with her public image in the new video.

Pop stars have a history of tackling their tabloid headlines in music videos and now Rihanna is having some fun with the media in her "S&M" music video. It's a colorful romp through the singer's sexed-up public persona, complete with an appearance by Perez Hilton and plenty of stereotypical-looking reporter types.

The video was shot by Melina Matsoukas, who also directed Rihanna's equally colorful clip for "Rude Boy." The video opens with Rihanna being dragged kicking and screaming to a press conference, where she is promptly covered with plastic wrap. She wears a dress with headlines written all over it while cooing, "It feels so good being bad." The reporters all take notes while wearing S&M ball gags.

R&B star Rihanna's new fragrance has been approved by the animal rights activists at PETA as the Bajan beauty has teamed up with Parlux, a cruelty-free company to create it. Reb'l Fleur, which will hit store shelves on January 25 was created by the 22-year-old singer in collaboration with the experts at Parlux, who have been on PETA's 'good list', for their policy to not test products on animals, Femalefirst reported.

PETA senior vice president Dan Mathews is so impressed with the Umbrella hitmaker that he sent her a big bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation for her concern towards animals. "Rihanna's decision to team up with Parlux is as kind to animals as her music is to your ears. By renouncing animal tests, Parlux is proving that beauty doesn't have to have an ugly side," he said.
