RiRi celebrated her 22nd birthday on Saturday night in Phoenix, Arizona, and not in Los Angeles as we thought. Watch a video of Rihanna getting a lap dance from a stripper below:

E! Online reports:

Los Angeles Dodgers star Matt Kemp surprised the sexy singer on Saturday with a 22nd birthday party in Phoenix, E! News has learned. Rihanna was “shocked” by the ballplayer’s gesture, apparently expecting a small get-together with a few friends, a source says. She had no clue what was really in store for her.

So how did it go? Pretty great. Kemp had been planning the event for at least a month to make sure Rihanna’s birthday was special, according to an insider. There were flowers, Sprinkles cupcakes, tiki torches in the pool, engraved bottles of Ace of Spades champagne and Johnny Walker Blue, as well as a Jamaican chef who whipped up lots of appetizers for the crowd. Around 40 people showed up, including both Rihanna’s friends and some of Kemp’s baseball pals.

Rihanna has had a difficult past 12 months in the aftermath of her assault by her ex-boyfriend. But the “Hard” superstar has endured, by being both outspoken about her experience in hopes of helping others and by channeling her experience into Rated R, her most rounded effort to date. She told MTV News last year that she “vented” on the project. Don’t expect her next album to be as dark as Rated R, though.

Rihanna said the follow-up, which has no timetable set yet, will be less intense. “Rated R, I love the sound of it, in terms of the bass,” Rihanna explained. “I really like the bottom, the grime of it. But if I were to combine that with more energetic, up-tempo pop records, then I think that will be a happy marriage. And that’s where we’ll probably go next.”

“It’s really colorful; it’s a pop art video,” Rihanna told MTV Korea. “We shot it all on green screen. Everything was done in post-production. It’s really colorful, really energetic. It was really inspired by my Caribbean roots. I love reggae music. ["Rude Boy"] is a Jamaican term, so our costumes are dancehall-queen-like. It’s a fun video. Probably the most fun video we’ve done so far.”

Rihanna’s AOL Session is finally online (however, videos are unavailable in some countries). Below you will find videos of the recording and Q&A.

It’s not readily apparent in her television interviews or music videos, but Rihanna’s got a funny side. “I’m a prankster,” she told AOL when she and her band took over our studio for a Sessions taping.

Throughout the performance and interview, Rihanna was delightfully giggling and showing a lighter side that had all but disappeared recently. Of course, two days earlier she’d snagged a pair of Grammys, a feat that would make anyone smile. Check out her thoughts on the awards, fashion, possible collaborations and more below.

AOL: Congratulations on winning two Grammys for ‘Run This Town Tonight.’ How did you celebrate? Were you surprised to win?

Rihanna:
After the Grammys, we went out to [label executive] L.A. Reid and Jay-Z’s dinner. They hosted a dinner together and then we went to drinks [at an] after party at a club. We had a blast. It was very much a surprise to win because the Grammys are really tricky. It’s difficult to win one, so you have to go into it not expecting to win so it’s always a pleasant surprise. And we were definitely pleasantly surprised.

As soon at Rihanna’s new colorful, sassy video for “Rude Boy” hit the Internet, fans and music lovers (haters) couldn’t help but compare it to M.I.A.’s video for “Boyz.” However, that reaction isn’t one that the star or the video’s director, Melina Matsoukas, had even considered while they were shooting the clip.

“I mean, you know that the video lends from a lot of Rasta culture and ’80s Atari vibe and that’s what we went with too,” Matsoukas said. “And then afterward I was like, ‘Oh, this sucks. They tore down my video.’ And her video’s great too. It definitely wasn’t trying to rip anybody off at all — it was just our approach and the animation stuff, it had a similar vibe. We’ve seen that before with Grace Jones and Andy Warhol, so I don’t know if anybody can lay claim to anything. We’re all inspired by similar elements and it came together in that way.”

With nods to Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, the pop-art inspired video is a far cry from the pair’s work on “Hard” — but as soon as they wrapped the latter, they knew they had to work together again.

Clothes label Gio-Goi’s stable of famous fans is starting to look like a dream festival line-up. Rihanna is the latest star to wear the rock’n'roll clobber, following fellow singers Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and more.

Rihanna modelled for brothers Anthony and Chris Donnelly as part of a plan to take the brand to America. A New York shop is already on the cards. The singer had the lads round to her London hotel last week, posing in nothing but a cap and puffa. To view more of the range go to giogoi.com.
